Prior to your first session, we will go through a brief but detailed consultation so I can better understand your overall health condition, areas of pain and tension, history of injury or surgery, and your goals for receiving massage therapy.
Inside the treatment room, you will be asked to undress to your level of comfort and lie face down under the sheets. Most sessions will typically begin with compression over the sheets as an introduction to my touch and so I can assess the pain areas we discussed.Proper draping is practiced throughout the session and only the area being worked on will be exposed. I invite you to communicate with me at any time during the massage, whether to inform me of any discomfort you’re experiencing, preferred pressure, or more focus on a specific area.

There are no specific guidelines as to how often one should get a massage and it is up to you to determine your needs. While a weekly massage benefits individuals with high stress levels or physical demands, a monthly session can suffice for those looking to maintain general wellness and relaxation; the key is to listen to your body and adjust the frequency to match your needs and goals.
If you are recovering from an injury or have specific health conditions, please ensure your doctor or surgeon has cleared you for massage. Oncology and prenatal massage inquiries are welcome but will be referred to certified practitioners at this time until further notice. -
A Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) is professionally trained in massage therapy. The New York Board requires 1,000 hours of training and education in western and eastern modalities, including hands-on clinical experience prior to graduation. All New York massage therapy programs are registered with the State Education Department.
Before receiving licensure and registration, students of massage therapy must first pass the NYS Massage Therapy Examination and have completed a course in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Once licensed and board certified, LMTs are required to fulfill 36 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and renew their license and registration every 3 years. Most LMTs will become certified in specializations throughout their careers.

policies
appointments
Advanced booking is required for all appointments. No unannounced walk-ins, please, as we may be busy serving other customers at that time. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.
cancellations + reschedules
There is a strict 24-hour cancellation and reschedule policy. Please provide at least a 24-hour notice prior to your session to avoid being charged 100% of the service fee. We understand and allow exceptions for emergencies such as illnesses, loved one’s death, or inclement weather. However, personal emergencies such as transportation issues, last-minute work obligations, or babysitters canceling are still subject to the cancellation charge. When a client cancels with less than 24 hours notice it is often difficult to fill their vacated spot with a different client, which directly impacts your therapist’s time and income. Thank you for your kind understanding.
arrival + lateness
Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment to check-in and complete a brief consultation. All sessions begin and end on time, therefore arriving late will result in a shorter massage that will end as originally scheduled. 100% of the service fee will also apply to late arrivals who wish to reschedule.
payment + tipping
Payment is due in full at the time of your service. Venmo, Zelle, and cash are currently accepted. Your credit/debit card info is required to book appointments online and will only be charged for no-shows, late cancellations and late reschedules after the 24-hour window. While of course appreciated, tipping is always entirely optional.
packages
When purchasing a package, you are purchasing massages for the specific length of session. If you wish to book for a different length of time after you’ve purchased a package, you’ll be expected to pay for that session separately. Packages must be paid in full at the time of purchase and may be shared between existing clients.
referrals
Referral discounts may be applied to your following appointment only after the referred individual has completed their first session.
